Laura Loves... Dream Dots for Spots

Drop the toothpaste, sudocrem or whatever else your using to dry up those pesky pimples. Pick up a pack of Dream Dots for Spots!
We all suffer from those pesky pimples at some point and it always seems to be when we have a big night out or an event coming up. I have been using Dream Dots for a while now and have to say they are the holy grail quick fix for clearing spots asap!

After your nighttime skincare ritual but before applying your moisturiser peel off a single Dream Dot and place it directly on top of the spot (you may apply your moisturiser after). The Dot creates a silky feel second skin, waterproof seal that prevents any further dirt or bacteria entering your spot while it works overnight to remove pus and heal it. In the morning the peel the Dot off and reveal that the spot is visibly clearer, redness is reduced and it's less painful. Magic!

Dream Dots are non invasive and gentle working on the skin so this process can be repeated again until the spot has cleared.
I love this product! There are loads of Dots in the packet so your definitely getting good value! It has now become my go to product when I feel a spot coming and it definitely gets the "Laura Loves" seal of approval!

Hope you enjoyed this post. If you have used this product before I would love to hear your thoughts on it.

So...?

Feels like I've been transported back in time! This 90's favourite is making a big comeback with more and more fabulous new fragrances available, there's a scent to suit everybody! I was lucky enough to be sent some products by So...? to review.

So...? Fragrances Eau De Toilette 30ml / €6.95 , 50ml / €9.95 , Body Fragrance 75ml / €1.99
Available from Penneys, Superdrug and selected Pharmacies

The So..? original fragrance has to be my favourite! The scent is so fresh and delicate, with notes of orange flower, rose, jasmine, vanilla and sandlewood. It's so girly yet not overwhelming, it's perfect for everyday wear!

So...? Sexy is one of the newest So..? fragrances available. The packaging designs are fab, I love the fishnet design on So...? Sexy. The scent is similar to the original So...? fragrance with notes of mandarin, rose, jasmine, sandlewood and musk but with a flirtier fruitier edge. Perfect for everyday or evening wear!

Even though these fragrances are Eau de Toilette the scent lasts for ages and is released beautifully from the skin throughout the day!

However as for the body fragrances, I'm not a fan of body fragrance (I even try to avoid scented deodorants). I think they end up smelling very overpowering, very chemical and stale. I highly recommend spending the extra few quid for an Eau de Toilette which will smell much better and last much longer.

Those of you who know me know I love my luxury fragrances! But after trying the So..? Fragrances again after all these years made me remember that you don't have to fork over big bucks to smell fabulous! These purse friendly, stylish fragrances are the perfect everyday scent and they even fit in your handbag! What more could you want!

Have a great week!

The Boho Kimono

Kimono / H&M , Fedora / H&M , Jeans / Topshop
Boots / Penneys , Watch / Guess , Rings / Penneys,H&M,Topshop

I bought this fantastic kimono in H&M on Saturday while shopping in town. The colours are so beautiful and the quality is fab. I was so shocked when I saw the price tag - only €12.95! Bargain!

Its so flattering on and super easy to style. I love it over jeans for a casual spring look but as it comes into the summer music festival season I'd wear it with frayed denim shorts and a floral head band (eek so cute)!
Get it quick, it's selling out fast!

Hope you all like my latest look,

I Want To Ride My Bicycle

Photo: Sarah Orr (sarahorrphotography.ie)
Coat / ASOS , Fedora / H&M , Brogues / M&S
Laces / American Apparel , Skirt / New Look
Bicycle / Dawes Duchess

I love this photo taken by Sarah Orr for U Magazine a few months ago. I totally forgot about writing a post about it until now!

I had just bought this bike and really wanted it to be in the shot because I became so obsessed with it. It's made by Dawes and is suitably named the 'Dawes Duchess'. We are always looking for new ways to keep fit and cycling a bike rather than driving to your destination is a fun way of doing just that! Since I've bought it I have seen so many girls cycle around on them wearing the cutest outfits! The low crossbar mean there's no hassle getting onto the bike in a skirt and the wide handlebars allow you to sit up straight while cycling. However the bike is a city bike which means it's a lot heavier than hybrid/racer/mountain bikes and does not suit rough or mountain terrain. Not a bike for the cycle fanatics but for the cycle fashionistas and believe you me it does keep you fit!

Have a great weekend!

Do These Things Work?

Boots Tea Tree Witch Hazel Nose Pore Strips
Yes we can read the box but what do these things actually do and more importantly do they work?

I came across these nose pore strips a few years ago in Boots while searching for a face exfoliant. At approx €6.50 I picked up a pack to try (out of curiosity) and I have been repurchasing them religiously ever since!

Inside the pack is 6 individually wrapped strips, which is great because they stay fresh after the pack is opened. The strips are super easy to use and the directions are so simple,

1. Clean your face of any products
2. Dampen nose with water
3. Apply strip and allow to dry
4. Remove after 10 mins

As the strip dries on your damp nose it hardens. When it hardens it tightens pores and grips onto any blackheads or dirt on your nose. The strip tingles your nose as it dries and can sometimes become very irritating as u can't scratch your nose while it's on!

Pulling the strip off is relatively pain free, and so worth it when you see blackheads/dirt remain on the strip.

What do I think ?
This product doesn't perform to my expectations, whenever I have a noticeable blackhead on my nose the strips can never seem to clear it, they only remove very small unnoticeable blackheads or dirt. However in saying this it does prevent these small impurities from clogging up pores and causing spots. As well as this pores do appear tighter and skin is less oily after use. At over €1 every time you use a strip I don't think the value for money is very good but I would still recommend them as I have yet to find a better, cheaper competitor!

Here's a few ridiculous pictures of me using the strips!

If you have used this product I would love to hear your feedback!

Hope you all have a great week,

Care For Hair

Here's a few hair care products of mine that I absolutely love!

Shampoo / €7.69 , Conditioner / €7.49

When washing my hair I do a double wash with shampoo and always soak the ends in conditioner to make it silky and easier to manage. I would always use matching shampoo & conditioner sets. I like to swap and change my shampoo and conditioning products after they run out because I feel it keeps my hair looking super fresh plus I go for the best deals in store on the day. I usually stick to coloured enhancing or volumizing shampoos. The John Frieda range for blonde hair is one of my favourites.

L'Oréal Silver Shampoo / €11.50

I have been recommended this product countless times in Peter Mark over the years. As I have complained about my hair turning a brassy yellow between dying. If you suffer with this problem then this is the answer! It's a colour reviving shampoo for grey and white hair. It lifts the brassy yellow tones from blonde hair to revive your colour to its salon perfect white blonde. To be honest it didn't completely change my hair but definitely made it look more healthy and fresher. I would only use this once every 2-3 weeks when my hair needs a boost so it lasts for ages!!!

BLEACH London Hair Mask / €7.99

This is one of the best hair masks I have come across! I am such a penny pincher when it comes to masks as I rarely suffer from dry hair so I find it hard to spend massive money on a product that I don't necessarily need. I have used Percy&Reed and Aussie hair masks before. But picked this up during a 3 for 2 offer in Boots and I fell in love with it. The fragrance is gorgeous, it leaves hair silky, untangled, frizz free and nourished without leaving any residue at the root. I use this once every 1-2 weeks and it makes such a noticeable difference to my hair!

TRESemmé Serum / €8.99

Whatever type of hair you have you need this product. It is a miracle worker. This argan oil infused hair serum can be used pre or post styling (personally I use it post styling). It tames hair, perfects flyaways, frizz, gives hair a healthy shine and finishes your look. You only need a pump or two depending on the length of your hair so it lasts for ages. I use this after I style my hair as a finishing product, its perfect!

BLEACH London Dye / €6.69 (each)

A few months ago I heard a lot of hype surrounding Bleach London's new hair product range so I decided to try it out for myself. I bought these wash out semi-permanent hair dyes, which looked like pastel pink and pastel blue on the back of the bottle. They're so quick and simple to use and the results are fabulous. However, the pink washes out very quickly and the blue is not pastel it is a dark blue and it doesn't wash out but fades to a greenish-blue. Which I like but a lot of people would hate. Although I would still recommend this as they are by far the best wash out dyes I have come across.

Superdrug Dry Shampoo / €1.70

I am a worshiper of Batiste dry shampoo (used in between washes). I was in Superdrug recently picking up a few things and noticed they were sold out of Batiste following an offer they had running. I find Batiste in local pharmacies far too expensive, so I went for the only other option available which was Superdrugs own branded dry shampoo. I have to say I was plesently surprised by it! Tt really volumises hair (a lot better than Batiste), it smells gorgeous and keeps hair looking fresh all day long. Due to its price I think I will be using this in future.

What I'm buying next for reviewing:
Toni & Guy Sea Salt Spray

L'Oréal Heat Protect Volume Styling Spray

Hope you enjoyed my mini hair care product reviews.
Have a great week!

U Magazine Fashion Diary

On the 9th of November I did a "fashion diary" photo-shoot with Sarah Orr Photography for Ireland's U magazine. It was a day long event in which I had to pose for 10 photos with 10 different looks. I had spent the week prior to the shoot planning, organising and getting my outfits together. The day itself was exhausting but thoroughly enjoyable!!!

The photographer, Sarah Orr, was lovely, so patient and very talented. I was sent the photos the next day making sure I liked them. Needless to say I loved them. I was given a few days to send the captions to U magazine. I felt totally in control from beginning to end. The magazine went on sale last Tuesday the 26th of November and I'm delighted with how it turned out.

It was great experience and will be something I'll cherish for years and years.

Hope you all liked it !!!
