How gorgeous are these nails!?!

I recently received these Little Mix Leigh-Anne, Jamaican inspired false 'press-on' nails from the gorgeous Ciara Cummins at Slatterys Communications. Not only do they look fantastic but they are such an innovative product.

Rather than using harsh glues to glue on the nails, they are 'pressed-on' using double sided adhesive tabs! They are faaaaar less damaging on the nails than glue and are so easy to apply!

The pack contains 24 nails (10 various sizes), a nail file, instructions and 24 double sided nail shaped adhesive tabs. To apply, firstly your nails are cleaned, an adhesive tab is placed ontop of your own nails and smoothed out. The outer protective foil surface of the adhesive tab is removed revealing an adhesive area in which the false nail is placed upon. With a bit of pressure press the false nail down ontop of your own nail (this is believed to activate the sticky tab and secure the nail).

On the box it is said that the nails last up to 5 days but on the instruction leaflet they are said to last 7 days, I was curious as to which one was true. However my nails only lasted 2 days, which I was very disappointed with as I had fallen in love with these nails. I put this down to the fact that my work is very hands on,I am constantly wearing surgical disposable gloves and washing my hands. The best thing is they didn't damage my own nails or leave any residue on them!

This product definitely gets the Laura Loves seal of approval. I would buy these nails again but I'd make sure to wear them for special occasions only.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Wrap It Up

I'm the type of girl who loves changing nail colour everyday. I have never invested in nail wraps myself so was very excited when I recently received them from the lovely Ciara Cummins at Slatterys Communications.

The first thing I noticed was the quality of the wraps. The colours used and the finish of the design gave them an expensive look unlike some of the other nail wraps I have seen. Having never used nail wraps before it took a while to get the hang of applying them. The step by step leaflet enclosed in the pack helped, but they took far longer to apply then the recommended 5 minutes!

There are 20 wraps in the pack which allows you to do every nail twice! Alternatively, to make the pack last longer, you can select a few nails to wrap and paint the others with nail varnish!

Unfortunately, the sizes of the wraps are far too big for my nails! I had to use the smallest size wrap on my pinky, ring and index fingers. The middle size overlapped the nail on my middle finger. The large size fit my thumb properly which meant I was left with a lot of spare middle sized wraps. However, I can always use theses again by painting my nails with nail varnish and apply the wraps to my middle finger as a statement nail.

I found that the wraps didn't apply smoothly and left a lot of creases. These weren't too noticeable to the naked eye but being a perfectionist I hate knowing they are there! I was also disappointed to notice them chipping around the edges after only one day of wear.

All in all I liked these nail wraps and received loads and loads of compliments about them. They would make a great present or Christmas stocking filler but are definitely a novelty item.
Personally would I buy them again?... Probably not.

Little Mix Nail Wraps €6.99 available at Boots, ASOS (€8.00) and selected pharmacies.

Get Glow

Oh My God how much do you love these
novelty glow in the dark nails?

(Apologies for the poor picture quality)
(I took these photos off my iPhone at night)

I got these glow nails as a birthday prezzie from my brother Jason and his gorgeous girlfriend Sarah two weeks ago. I was so excited to use them I put them on straight away with no base coat. The colours on their own are very translucent. So I took it off and redid them today, using two coats of white polish as a base coat before applying two coats of the glow nails. The white polish helped bring the colours out, the yellow and pink are both really bright (not coming across in the picture) and the blue is more like a baby blue. I like the variety of colours you get in the pack, and love that they all glow different colours.

To increase the glow intensity all you have to do is hold your hand up to any light source for a few seconds.

These nails definitely provide the wow factor and a conversational piece for a night out
They would also be a fantastic look at a  festival.

Has anyone else tried these nails?

Penneys false nails !

Oh my God I absolutely love these glue on false nails!!!

I complimented my brothers Girlfriend's gorgeous nails at a BBQ at the beginning of summer assuming they were shellac or gel nails that cost a bomb but when she told me they were from Penneys and that they are only €1.50 a pop I nearly fell off my chair.

I literally went in the next day and picked up a set with bows on them and a set of luminous coral ones. A few weeks after I picked up a blush pink set, a lime set and these moustachioed babies! Recently I've seen burgundy and red studded ones.

I put the bow set on before my holiday to Portugal in June and I was so impressed that they lasted the full week even though I was in and out of the pool and using loads of oily suncream and exfoliators. Since then I've been hooked!!! But, if your nails are weak unfortunately I'd advise you to stay away from them, the glue makes your nails really soft and brittle. Even people with strong nails should wait a few weeks in between applications to allow your own nails to regain strength. I found the overall quality of these false nails good, the nails don't snap and the colour doesn't fade but some come jagged around the edges however these imperfections can be easily filed off using a nail file.

With the bargain price, the massive selection, the longevity and the acceptable quality these nails definitely get the "Laura Loves" seal of approval !!! I want a pair in every colour!

Below is a quick tutorial on how to apply the nails.

1. Cut your nails down short
2. Remove all traces of nail varnish from your nails
3. File away any jagged edges
4. Using a cuticle remover, remove any overgrown cuticles

5. From the pack of 24 select out what size false nail fits every finger, I recommend laying them out in order so you don't get mixed up and apply the wrong false nail to the wrong finger!
6. Apply a thin layer of glue onto your first nail and place the false nail down as near to your cuticle as possible (but not on your cuticle) press it down on your nail for about 5 seconds
7. Repeat on all your other nails
8. File the false nails into the shape and length that suits you and Voila gorgeous nails in no time!

I hope you all enjoyed my Penneys false nails review and tutorial,
